Founded by Caroline Carson in 2001, the Guild was established in an effort to bring larger choral works to the central Georgia area and to promote a sense of community among musicians in the city of Milledgeville, GA. Dr. Douglas Keith is the current director of the MSG. Doug is also a professor of Music Therapy at GC&SU Milledgeville. He is an outstanding organist, professor, and vocalist who has helped establish and maintain the high quality and enthusiasm of music in Milledgeville, GA!
The MSG is currently comprised of approximately 30 dedicated members including experienced and non-experienced singers. Members are hard-working and creative individuals. The choir gives at least four annual performances. Several of these performances have been with chamber orchestra. The group has increased its visibility and has become known for high quality performances as well as outstanding choral literature. The MSG is open to all by voice placement and interview with the director.
